It can be tricky at this stage of the Easter Holidays to keep the kids amused. There’s lots of fun things to do in the market for kids this Easter Holiday, with many of them being free! So we thought we’d put together this helpful guide.  We’ve picked out 5 top tips that may even occupy your little treasures for more than one visit to the market.

1) Become an Easter Bunny

The trader run Great Covered Market Easter Egg Hunt is always so popular with the kids we’ve extended it this year to cover the rest of the Easter Holidays. Last year was a record year with a whopping 44kg of mini-foiled eggs given out in addition to the three grand prizes. Just pop into iScream, Wicked or The Garden of Oxford and collect your entry form, then it’s time to go egg hunting!  The last day to enter is Sunday 7 April. Collect all the stamps, then hand your card back in for The Grand Prize Draw, which will be happening 12midday Monday 8 April.

2) Design your own Oxford themed sock!

Soctopus have launched a fantastic competition to design your own Oxford themed sock! Just pop into the shop and collect your Sock design entry sheet. Feel free to settle down on our rainbow benches and get creating. Don’t forget to bring some crayons. It’s open to all ages. There are no other rules just fun! The winning design will be given a voucher to spend in stall and have their design made.

3) Walk on the Moon

If that hasn’t already worn out those with bundles of energy, take them for an out-of-this-world experience in The Space Store.  Yes, you can walk on the moon in the market and kids can dress up as astronauts! It’s also a fantastic place to stare in wonder at all the space-themed fun you could take home.

4) Visit an enchanted Fairy Garden!

Yes, you can visit a fairy garden in the Covered Market! Head to Crystal Spirit Emporium’s stunningly colourful fairy garden and see how many fairies you can spot. This enchanted garden is not only brimming with fairies in all shapes and sizes, it’s also teeming with of all kinds of mystical creatures, crystals and plant life.  While you are there, Crystal Spirit Emporium have a special crystal lucky dip too. Before you leave don’t forget to say hi to Noodles, their resident pooch.

5) Get crafty with Crafty Kids do Sunday!

Every week The Market Tap host a special kid’s craft morning at 10 am. This week is a particularly special one as they team up with The Space Store for a space-themed morning as Crafty Kids Go To Space! Just turn up and get stuck in.
