Nick and Josephine Starsmore began their love affair with sock-selling by chance… they discovered fun, personality-led socks whilst on a trip to LA and loved them so much that they became the European distributors.
Fast forward 5 years and having cut their teeth in the industry, they took the plunge and launched SOCKTOPUS which has a British and European design style. Our USP is to translate familiar cultural icons / sports / hobbies into ‘fun for your feet’. We pride ourselves on the choice we offer, the durability of our cotton blend and – more than anything – our sense of HUMOUR doing it.
We launched our flagship store in Brighton 2021 and have gone from strength to strength ever since. We now have 12 shops across the UK.
Meet The Trader
We are a Dad, (Nick) Son (Cameron) and Step-mum (Josephine) operation with a fantastic small team of helpers. We all worked together previously in the fashion industry where Josie’s design met Nick’s business acumen and – aided by Cam’s talent for logistics – we delivered some well known High St trend brands.
Our favourite quote is, “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working” Picasso was obviously also a grafter!

What sizes do you offer?
We run MOST styles in SMALL (4-8) and LARGE (9-12)
Do you do kids?
Yes, currently a small selection, more being added soon!
Do you do Bamboo socks?
Do we do bamboo socks: Yes! We have our own designs and stock other brands in multiple sizes.
Which is better; bamboo or cotton?
They have different qualities! Bamboo is softer, more breathable and naturally anti-bacterial, but we find cotton to be longer lasting/ more durable and it carries the bright colours and detail associated with SOCKTOPUS designs the best!
What other brands do you sell?
This changes every so often, but a current selection includes; Groovy Things, Foot Clothes, Gumball Poodle, and Miss Sparrow/Mr Heron.
