GOODIES is turning one this week! The independent clothing shop has brought colour, style, and serious good vibes to the Covered Market over the past year.
We caught up with founders Matt and Rachael to hear how it’s going, what they’ve learned from their first year, and what’s next.
Happy Anniversary to you both. How does it feel to have had one full year in the Covered Market?
Thank you! It’s been the most wonderful year! It’s been lots of hard-work and a steep learning curve at times, but we’ve honestly had the best year! We’ve met so many new people, customers and neighbours and it’s only just the start!
How do you plan to celebrate this anniversary?
We are having a party at the shop! We’ve finally got the brand list we wanted and it’s nice to celebrate this landmark! Our friends, Hamblin are also doing food and drink, so it’s going to be a really special avenue party!
Has what you offer evolved over the course of the year as your business has settled into being part of the market?
We’re just more confident in GOODIES and what it offers the city! It’s nice to be able to now buy stock specifically for the wonderful customers we have and also try and showcase new brands in our little space!
What have you like the best about this year?
Honestly, meeting so many people – and making old and new customers friends! We have the best customers!
Looking to the future do you have any new plans for Goodies that you would like people to look out for?
We’ll be doing more events, talks and brand launches in store! Matt also has some exciting styling opportunuities coming up!
