Good Food Awards 2018

Here at the covered market, we love any opportunity to show

Here at the covered market, we love any opportunity to show off about our wonderful businesses. Its awards time again, and we are so happy to announce that our very own iScream, located in the covered market, has won this highly prestigious award for the second year in a row. Specialising in beautifully handcrafted authentic Italian ice creams using fresh, free range, organic and Fairtrade products, we definitely agree that they are a very worthy winner of the award…again!.

The concept of iScream, was created by founder and expert Gelataire Graham, during a holiday in Tuscany after noticing how popular Gelaterias were in Italy. The Italian Gelaterias were open from morning till night, with floods of people coming in and out with smiles on their faces.

“Why not bring this beautiful concept to the UK?”, he thought.

A few years later, the time came. Graham, along with his wife Jen took on the lease of their shop in our wonderful Covered Marked…and the rest is history.

The couple have well and truly thrown themselves into their business, going on taste testing trips, plenty of research and sourcing the best ingredients for their Gelateria.

The Good Food award celebrates the food everyone wants to eat- tasty, authentic and responsibly produced. iScream is truly dedicated to perfection, sourcing ingredients from suppliers who share the same work ethic. If you haven’t taken a trip to Oxford’s very own Italian ice cream haven, then what are you waiting for?

The covered market is home to Oxfords finest independent shops, cafes and trades selling a variety of products such as food, gifts, shoes, fashion, flowers and jewellery as well as our impressive butchers and fruit and veg stalls providing Oxford with top quality foods at reasonable prices. Dating back to the 1770’s, and centred right in the heart of beautiful Oxford, it is a local heritage and a very popular tourist attraction that is not to be missed on a trip to our stunning city.
